Introduction Wildlife Photography Experience

1 day wildlife photography starter workshop for both you and your child

Learn the secrets of wildlife photography, meet our owls and creepy crawlies, and you can even try out camouflage like a wildlife photography pro!   From 6 - 16 years with an adult.

A unique chance for you and your youngster to learn about wildlife photography together.

During a fun and fact-filled day you will meet, learn about and photograph our super team of friendly owls and wriggly reptiles in the glorious natural setting of Northumberland.

You'll have the chance to develop your photographic skills with an inspirational range of wildlife, and learn how to stay invisible to the animals using camouflage, stealth and field craft.

So if you're looking for something different to do with the kids this summer, why not bring them on a Kids n GrownUps Wildlife Camera Craft Day?

  • Birds of Prey - native owls perched and in flight in natural settings

  • Reptiles to photograph and handle

  • Camouflage and field craft

  • Beginner friendly - come and learn new techniques

  • Use a DSLR, bridge, compact camera or even a smart phone

No matter what your level of photography, or what camera you bring along, we will make sure that you get the most out of the workshop and take home photographs that both of you will treasure for years to come.

We work together with you and your child and will advise you on everything from the on/off button to camera settings for different types of shots, how to focus and expose your photographs correctly, picture composition and how to best capture the movements and behaviour of wildlife.

You will photograph beautiful British owls as they perch and fly free in their natural surroundings, and will also learn how to make a simple hide, allowing you to get closer to wildlife when you head out into the wild.  You will even have the chance to use camouflage cream (optional) to help you blend into the bushes and stay invisible to the animals. (please bring wet wipes and old clothes if you don't want to go home looking like Rambo!)

Back with the creepy crawlies we will look at how to capture their fine and delicate details, and all their weird and wonderful natural behaviour.

We will also help with guidance on photographing each other, so you really will capture some special memories.

Places for this workshop are limited, so book early to avoid disappointment,

and please feel free to get in touch if you have any questions.

" It's a great way of bonding with the kids, and could start a shared interest that lasts a lifetime."    Trai Anfield, workshop leader
