Dates: Friday 20th June & Friday 27th June 2014
Duration: 6.5 to 7 hours

Come and photograph some amazing and charismatic birds of prey on this all day workshop. With a dedicated falconer and a professional wildlife photographer this is a fantastic opportunity for photographers of all levels of ability to get up close and personal with these awe inspiring avian predators both perched and in flight. This workshop takes place at a superb falconry centre in Northumberland, conveniently situated just off the A1. Our dedicated highly experienced falconer is always present and endeavours to fulfil photographers requests to get a fantastic range of photographs of these magnificent species. We have arranged plenty of lovely backgrounds; natural perches, derelict building, fields, fencing to ensure a good variety of shots. We’ll fly most of the birds too as we demonstrate and teach techniques to capture dramatic flight shots.
There are huge amount of species to choose from: We can photograph some static shots of long eared owl and tawny owl plus Harris’s hawk, barn owls, ashy faced barn owl, American barn owl, little owl, American kestrel, European kestrel, buzzard and eagle owl in flight (and static too!). You’ll be able to get incredibly close to these magnificent birds for some eye level frame filling portraits with natural backdrops. We’ll do our best to hide the jesses and even remove some to make the shots as natural as possible. Throughout the day we will be on hand to offer as much tuition as you require, from camera settings to composition – we’ll make sure you take some amazing photographs!
We’ll contact you in advance to determine your level of knowledge and discuss anything specific you’d like to learn. However, if you think of something on the workshop, just let us know and we’ll help as we go along. By the end of the workshop we will have increased your confidence and knowledge on how you can use your camera equipment to take some fantastic wildlife photographs. After the workshop we are always happy and willing to keep in touch with people to offer any ongoing help and feedback.
This workshop will begin at 10am. We’ll start with a few introductions over tea & coffee and discuss our plans for the day.We like to keep our itinerary fairly fluid to help ensure each participant gets the most from the workshop. The emphasis on the workshop is to get you out amongst the birds and to spend as much time photographing them as possible – there is a fantastic selection of birds to choose from!
