'For the ultimate birds of prey photography and videography workshop, the only place to be is the Czech Republic in autumn. The High Tatras mountains offer stunning locations to fly and pose our spectacular raptors and owls.
Autumn colours, ethereal mists and early frosts provide wonderful, atmospheric shots at this time of year, and the workshop culminates in eye-level photography of golden eagles gliding above a natural pond - just brilliant!'
Trai Anfield, tour leader
The workshop begins with a quick morning flight to Prague.
On arrival we transfer to our hotel and check in, and for the next two days you will enjoy a unique opportunity to photograph and film some of northern Europe’s most charismatic birds of prey, both in flight and perched in authentic natural settings.
Using professional falconers and trained birds, you will photograph and film iconic species such as golden eagle, steppe eagle, lana falcon, northern goshawk, buzzard and xxxx plus long eared, eagle, snowy, tawny, little and boreal owls, as they fly amidst the wild landscape of the Czech Republic.
We fly each bird in appropriate habitat, including over water, enabling you to capture natural-looking and spectacular pictures that would be almost impossible to achieve with wild birds without months of work.
The birds are expertly trained and will fly repeatedly, providing unrivalled opportunities to learn and practice new techniques, and allowing our creativity to come to the fore.
Inspiration and tuition on how to get the best from each opportunity are provided by Trai Anfield, professional wildlife photographer and videographer, and presenter of BBC Radio 4's Living World.
Over the 3 days, you can expect a packed workshop of great photography and great companyin the beautiful surrounds of the Czech Republic.
