As Creative Director of Enlightened Media my aim is to make working with us a pleasure and an adventure!
I hopped off the staff roster at the BBC after 13 years as presenter, meteorologist, producer, director, video journalist and trainer. People thought I was nuts, giving up a dream job on tv and a final salary pension!
I just thought there must be a way to help worthwhile projects get their message across through giving them access to high quality production resources at ethical rates.
So I gathered my skills and courage and set up Enlightened Media. It was scary, but I’m lucky to have a great team of Enlightened Associates behind me - all the best people I’ve worked with in the technical fields of filming, lighting, editing, animation and music composition.
My love of photography, conservation and travel forms the basis of all my work. I do still work for the BBC, and currently present on Radio 4′s flagship natural history programme The Living World, and report for Shared Planet and Saving Species. Aside from broadcasting, I write wildlife and environment articles for various magazines, and lead wildlife photography and videography workshops in the UK, Europe and Africa. I'm also the qualified pilot on our Inspire 1 drone for gathering your corprate aerial footage.
My first solo photography exhibition Trai Anfield: Behind The Camera was hosted by the Biscuit Factory, Newcastle, in partnership with Colorworld Imaging, in Spring 2012. Fine art photography prints from this and other collections are now for sale in our Store with proceeds being shared amongst the charities I am involved with.
I am proud to be Patron of three charities: Friends of Red Kites NE, ME North East and LifeSpan. I am also a member of the Heritage Lottery Fund North East Committee, and on the Board of Trustees for Groundwork South Tyneside & Newcastle.
Please see the About Enlightened Media page to find out more about the projects we support.
Enlightened Media is about approaching work differently and supporting other sustainable, ethical projects wherever we can.
I hope that you will enjoy working with us and find our approach a breath of fresh air in the corporate world.
