As Creative Director of Trai Anfield Photography and Enlightened Media my aim is to make working with us a pleasure and an adventure!

Enlightened Media is about approaching work differently and supporting other sustainable, ethical projects wherever we can.   We appreciate diversity, value inclusivity and welcome our clients and colleagues with open hearts and minds.

I hope that you will enjoy working with us and find our approach a breath of fresh air in the corporate world.

On a personal note, I hopped off the staff roster at the BBC after 13 years as presenter, meteorologist, producer, director, video journalist and trainer.  People thought I was nuts, giving up a dream job on tv and a final salary pension!

I just thought there must be a way to help worthwhile projects get their message across through giving them access to high quality film and photography at ethical rates.

So I gathered my skills and courage and set up Enlightened Media.  It was scary, but I’m lucky to have a great team of Enlightened Associates behind me who share my values and commitment to supporting worthwhile projects.  To see how this works in practice please see our Conservation, Climate & Communities page.

My love of photography, conservation and travel forms the basis of all my work.  I have continued to work freelance for the BBC Natural History Unit, presenting on Radio 4′s flagship natural history programme The Living World, and reporting for Shared Planet and Saving Species, though in recent years my focus has shifted to being behind the camera more.  Nowadays I spend most of my time designing and leading specialist wildlife photography and videography workshops around the world.

My photography has been awarded and exhibited on four continents and prints from my collections are  for sale in our Store with proceeds being shared amongst the charities I am involved with.

I am proud to support Gorilla Doctors and the Mara Predator Conservation Programme in Africa, while at home in the UK I'm patron of Friends of Red Kites NE and a Trustee of Northumberland Wildlife Trust, where I am also Climate Change Ambassador.  I've also served a three year tenure on the Board of the Heritage Lottery Fund North East, and on the Board of Trustees for Groundwork South Tyneside & Newcastle.
