PLEASE NOTE: the specifics of our itinerary may vary due to tides, sea conditions and weather.  Kindly refer to your joining notes for all relevant information - these are issued upon confirmation of booking.

Day 1

Our group meets up this morning in time to catch our boat out to Skokholm., which takes around an hour

En route we will look out for a range of seabirds skimming the waves, and for marine mammals that frequent the area, including whales and dolphins.

After settling in to our base for the next 3 nights we will take our first walk around the island, identifying all the best areas for photographing different species before settling in a sunset spot to get some stunning late light shots.

Overnight Skokholm

Days 2 & 3

Start your days on Skokholm with a puffin air hug to set you going with a smile!

Then you have the whole day to explore the island and focus on your species of choice - most of the seabirds will be engaging in behaviour such as nest building, going through mating rituals, seeing off rivals, fishing and even predating each other's young.  There are also a multitude of rabbits ,and seals close to shore.

Trai will be on hand to offer one-to-one photography and videography tuition with the knowledge, experience, and techniques necessary to help you capture the action unfolding all around and create memorable portraits. There are great opportunities to hone your skills for birds in flight and both high and low key shots.  There are many chances to do macro photography too, if you bring a specialist lens and tripod.

Trai will also run daily post production sessions to help you edit your shots in creative ways, maximising impact and telling the stories and struggles of the birds.

We will return to the field each evening in search of wonderful light, perhaps beautiful bokeh and of course always enchanting subjects.  It's amazing how quickly the days fly by!

And after dark there is the rare chance to visit the largest breeding colony of Manx shearwaters in the world!

Day 4

Return transfer

Last opportunities  to seek out birds at first light, then after breakfast we head back to the mainland, hoping to encounter seals and the more elusive dolphins, porpoises and whales as we head home.
