This is the connection I sought with a large male silverback mountain gorilla.  Just you and me. 100% connection on all levels. It is not acceptable to stare down one of these giant kings in their own kingdom, but he tolerated a few seconds of eye contact while he quietly asserted his superiority, which for me was both thrilling and humbling. My aim is to share how much more powerful the experience of connecting with a magnificent animal is than killing it.
